Marc Wellnitz, Captain, Canadian-German
Captain Marc Wellnitz was born in Canada to German parents and grew up in the Caribbean. His diverse background allowed him the opportunity to learn German and Spanish. He began his yachting career in 1990 and traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, and the west coasts of Canada and the United States. His passion for water activities is far-reaching, including sailing, scuba diving, skim boarding, water skiing, wakeboarding, and paddle boarding. He also has experience in free diving. In 1999, Marc received his captain’s license, and he now currently holds his 500 GRT license. He has acquired many other credentials over the years while running private and charter yachts. Marc is married and has two young sons who live in Florida.
Michael “Mikey” Johnson, First Mate, American
Mikey grew up on the waters of Massachusetts. After studying business at Salve Regina in Newport, RI and a short stint in the office world, he parted from the office world and began his yachting career. Serving the industry for more than nine years, he has worked on yachts such as M/Y EVVIVA, M/Y LUCKY SEVEN, M/Y BOARDWALK and M/Y KALEEN. He has traveled the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Bahamas, as well as the Northeast and Pacific Northwest Coasts of the United States. When not at sea, Mikey's favorite activities include paddle boarding, scuba diving, traveling, and photography. His favorite place to visit is Nantucket, where he hopes to one day own a home.
Gina Maull, Chief Stewardess, American
Gina was born and raised in a small town of Pennsylvania. After graduating college with a degree with Communications and a minor in Business she took her first opportunity and moved to South Florida to put her degree to work. While working her desk job she realized that her passion to be on the water and to travel was far more important which led her to her yachting career. Three years later and a lot of stamps in her passport she is content and happy with her career as a Yacht stewardess.
Jay Adams, Chef, American
Chef Jay graduated from the restaurant and hotel Culinary School in Milwaukee, WI in 1989. During college he has worked at city clubs, top 10 restaurants, hotels and country clubs. Adams has been certified by the American Culinary Federation as CEC with 18 years as executive chef. Chef Jay was acquainted with the yachting industry in St. Croix while working at the Buccaneer Hotel. He now has been working on private yachts for almost 13 years. The yacht previous to –W- was 145 ft. Waku. Then Waku became a 208 ft. Benetti traveling through the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Areas of expertise are seafood, Mediterranean, Asian, American regional and Caribbean. Delivering exquisite gourmet creations using only fresh and seasonal ingredients, bringing out superb flavors.
Larry Morgan, Engineer, American
Larry was born in Connecticut. At an early age, he took to sailing on the
Connecticut River. He worked his way up the racing fleet from Opti to lazers to 420’s. In college, he studied marine affairs and business. After college in Road Island, he worked the marinas in the area. Larry relocated to South Florida where he found his true passion, Yachting! He started off as mate and quickly progressed to engineer. Now having worked in the industry for many years, Larry has traveled the East and West Coast of United States, the Caribbean and Bahamas - He has also been to the Mediterranean. Larry enjoys working with his hands, and when not working the boat's systems, he enjoys building with wood.
Andrew Maxwell, Deckhand, American
Andrew's passion for yachting started when he lived in Minnesota on a lake and worked at a marine power sports dealer ship. In high school he took all the marine shop classes available. This time spent on the water played a pivotal role in establishing a long-standing relationship with the open waters. After graduation, Andrew attended Mott Technical Institute where he studied electrical engineering. He then attended a Commercial Dive Academy and worked as a diver for a few years which eventually lead him to the yachting world. Andrew has been working on yachts for the last 7 years both on private and charter.
