Marc Wellnitz, Captain, Canadian-German

Captain Marc Wellnitz was born in Canada to German parents and grew up in the Caribbean. His diverse background allowed him the opportunity to learn German and Spanish. He began his career in yachting in 1990 and traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, and the west coasts of Canada and the U.S. His passion for water activities is far reaching, including sailing, scuba diving, skim boarding, water skiing, wakeboarding, and paddle boarding. He also has experience in free diving. In 1999, Marc received his captain’s license, and he now currently holds his 500 GRT license. He has acquired many other credentials over the years while running private and charter yachts. Marc is married and has two young sons who live in Florida.

Michael “Mikey” Johnson, First Mate, American

Mikey grew up on the waters of Massachusetts. After studying business at Salve Regina in Newport, RI and a short stint in the office world he began his yachting career. Working in the industry for more than 9 years he has worked on yachts such as M/Y EVVIVA, M/Y LUCKY SEVEN, M/Y BOARDWALK and M/Y KALEEN. He has traveled the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Bahamas, as well as the northeast and Pacific Northwest coasts of the United States. When he is not at sea his favorite activities include paddle boarding, scuba diving, traveling, and photography. His favorite place to visit is Nantucket and hopes to one day own a home there.

Gina Maull, Chief Stewardess, American

Gina was born and raised in a small town of Pennsylvania. After graduating college with a degree with Communications and a minor in Business she took her first opportunity and moved to South Florida to put her degree to work. While working her desk job she realized that her passion to be on the water and to travel was far more important which led her to her yachting career. Four years later and a lot of stamps in her passport she is content and happy with her career as a Yacht stewardess.

Jay Adams, Chef, American

Chef Jay graduated from the restaurant and hotel Culinary School in Milwaukee, WI in 1989. During college he has worked at city clubs, top 10 restaurants, hotels and country clubs. Adams has been certified by the American Culinary Federation as CEC with 16 years as executive chef. Chef Jay was acquainted with the yachting industry in St. Croix while working at the Buccaneer Hotel. He now has been working on private yachts for almost 12 years. The yacht previous to –W- was 145 ft Waku. Then Waku became a 208 ft Benetti traveling through the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Areas of expertise are seafood, Mediterranean, Asian, American regional and Caribbean. Delivering exquisite gourmet creations using only fresh and seasonal ingredients, bringing out superb flavors.

Gary Dixon, Engineer, American

Gary grew up just outside of Boston and spent his summers on the southern coast of Maine. After high school, Gary moved to Daytona Beach where he attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Along with earning a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Science and an Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance Management, he also earned a Commercial Pilot certificate and he became an FAA licensed aircraft mechanic. For 20 years Gary worked in the aircraft maintenance industry and was in management for 15 of those years. In 2002, he moved to Florida and moved over to the marine industry as an engineer. After spending 6 years in Europe, Gary retired from full-time work in 2016 and now works as a relief engineer. In his spare time, he is the maintenance person at the Humane Society in Naples. He is also partners in the ownership of two aircraft and is busy building an RV-9A experimental aircraft, which he hopes to have flying by the summer of 2019. Johanna Buctha, Stewardess, American

Anna grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire. She attended the University of Rhode Island where she competed on their Division I Swimming & Diving Team. After graduating with a degree in Marketing and Film, she took her first opportunity to move to Newport Beach, California, where she managed a restaurant. Not long after, she was offered an opportunity to combine her love for travel and service working on board a yacht as a stewardess. Anna’s maritime experience has taken her all over the Caribbean, Bahamas, Alaska, California and Mexico. In her spare time Anna loves hiking, reading, swimming and traveling. Anna couldn’t be more excited to provide everyone an amazing experience onboard Yacht W.

Reily Coto, Deckhand American

Reily was born and raised on the west coast of Florida on the waters of Tarpon springs. During high school he juggled semi-professional surfing and working on commercial fishing boats. After moving to southern California he decided against competitive surfing, came back to Florida and started in the Yachting industry. He has been working on yachts for two years, and aspires to be a captain one day. On his free time Reily enjoys surfing and travelling. Some recent destinations have been china, Indonesia and Costa Rica. He plans on surfing every coastline in the world. When it is time for water sports he is ready to show you a fun time.
